Oh, Indy…
Posted by Mandy on April 23rd, 2008 filed in MusingsI just got a good look at the kid who is going to be playing along with Harrison Ford in the new Indiana Jones movie, and I just have one question:
He seems kind of… metro-like to be playing the possible kid of Indiana Jones. But that may be the story line for a movie with stars of “advanced ages”. How does our hero get along with a kid who is just so different from himself? Will they bond? How do you talk to each other, and let him maintain his independence and identity? What do you do when he asks if he can hold your weapons? That bullwhip is dangerous, and when do you trust him to be able to take care of it properly? I don’t think I have very high hopes for this movie–I saw one of those large cardboard cutouts of Indy brandishing his whip, and the smile on his face wasn’t the cocky, self-assured smirk I lovingly remember from the last movies (even Crusade), but more of a great big aren’t-we-having-a-good-time-this-is-so-fun-guys-aw-shucks! grin. I didn’t believe that he was an ass kicker any more. This makes me sad.
At least Karen Allen is back; she rocked the hizzy in Raiders.
